What you could do is rent the 1983 version with deleated scenes, I have a copy if you can’t find it and talk about the changes made to it too and compare/ contrast the scenes that were taken out of the original with the ones that were taken from the 1983 version, that would be one way you could link 1932to 1983 and talk about how much more tolerant the public has gotten in terms of violence on film.- Lindsay. I disagree about the sex ed part. Children will hear about sex and have questions and I think it is good at a certain age to be exposed to it so they know about it and what is right and wrong. It is very general information. And parents should be educating their children as well when the appropriate age comes. And if parents dont want their children in this sex ed class they can sign a form saying they dont want their children doing this class. Everything else I agree with .

This is a good summary and I basically agree that the point of Minnows argument is that the First Amendment can be regulated in regards to children viewing adult material.

I felt that the intro uses too many quotes, and not enough personal opinions from the author The thesis is a little unclear. In the beginning, the author gives details as to why the film is dangerous, and then in the third paragraph they claim “While some would say that a movie that depicts any kind of organized crime would be a dangerous one, I would have to disagree.” This is confusing and unclear what stand they take in the issue.

The intro uses good specific details to back up their thesis. The quotes also tie into and help explain the thesis as well. I think the intro was effective and the author got their point across very clearly using the quotes and other detailed information.

The introduction is very pointed and uses specific details in order to explain the thesis. Even though the citations are incorrect for the quotes that are used, they do successfully back up the writer’s thesis. The writer uses the specific quotes and information, coupled with a good analysis of said quotes, throughout the first paragraphs in order to demonstrate how they will illustrate throughout the paper that Scarface was in fact not a “dangerous film”

well use of quotes made the intro better. although the thesis was a little unclear, because of all the quotes.

I really like the quotes in the opening paragraph. I think it gives strong emphasis on where the author stands. Quotes are very effective to me. Lets me know the author did some research and can give good reason to their opinions.

The introduction is somewhat to the point and the paragraphs have enough supporting details; however, the paper is informal, there was too much emphasis on “I believe.” Introduction could have been stronger, and it would help to give more background on Scarface.

very detailed introduction, and a good clear thesis. You use alot of clear and descriptive quotes in your introductory paragraph, and they help get your point across. You might want to save some of those quotes for when your backing up your thesis later on in the paper. It just seems like a little to much info right off the bat, but very informative.
